Therapy and counseling in Paris for English speaking adults, youths, and families.

Therapy in English and French for adults, youths, and families.

My training as a social worker and my doctoral research in psychology have anchored my approach to therapy and healing in clinical, evidence-based practices. In the process of therapy, we come to terms with deep-seated beliefs and insecurities to transform pain into creativity. In doing so, we recover a knowledge of ourselves that had been covered up by the repetition of our ingrained habits and inherited pre-conceptions.The obsessions, addictions, ruminations, compulsions, hallucinations, nightmares, dreams, fantasies, grievances, sorrows, disorders, encounters, and oddities of daily living offer a fertile soil for us to plow so that we can plant in it the seeds of change. To do so, we learn how to stop invoking pre-conceived beliefs, norms and categories to justify our behaviors: healthy vs. ill, normal vs. abnormal, reasonable vs.unreasonable, etc... In short, therapy teaches us how to make the most of the "odd" within us and how to hold ourselves accountable to the decisions we take.Individual and family therapy is offered for English and French speakers in Paris or abroad. I have experience working with adolescents and their families, as well as aging adults and their families. Sessions in Paris are in-person in the 5th arrondissement in the evenings and on Wednesdays. At home visits can also be arranged for families and individuals with limited mobility.Rates for therapy are on a sliding-scale basis and are discussed during the first session. Student and low-income financial plans can be discussed. For best results in therapy, it is recommended to commit to at least one session per week, with two per week being optimal for rapid transformation.
